Job summary

Aretum is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician – Info/Sys to maintain and troubleshoot networked medical equipment in our healthcare facilities. You will work with IT to ensure device security, perform preventive and corrective maintenance, and support Cerner EHR integrations.

The role requires 3+ years in healthcare equipment maintenance, strong networking knowledge, and willingness to travel 10–15%. A two-year degree in an applied science or equivalent is expected.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher in an applied science or equivalent military training.
• Experience in hospital/healthcare maintenance with networking.
• Knowledge of security software, patches, and information security tools.
• Familiarity with TCP/IP, HL7, networking, DICOM standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on networked medical equipment to ensure functionality and lifespan.
• Diagnose and repair malfunctions following manufacturer specs.
• Carry out incoming inspections of new equipment for safety and accuracy.
• Collaborate with IT/cybersecurity to implement device security protocols.
• Install, calibrate, and configure medical equipment per manufacturer instructions.
• Monitor hazard recalls and coordinate resolution with manufacturers.
• Perform software repairs/updates to address glitches and ensure system compatibility.
• Maintain CMMS records for maintenance and inspections.
• Provide training to staff on proper operation of networked equipment.
• Stay updated on biomedical tech trends and regulations influencing practice.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless equipment operations.
