Job summary

Capital i is hiring Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET I, II, or III) in Ellsworth, Maine. The BMET will support maintenance, calibration, repair, and lifecycle management across the Northern Light Health network. Travel 0-15% within the network is required.

Full-time schedule with on-call and emergency coverage as needed. BMET II/III may mentor staff and lead projects. Placement level will be determined based on education, experience, certifications, and demonstrated competencies.

Qualifications

• Effective verbal and written communication and customer-service skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications and computerized maintenance management or equipment-management systems.
• Ability to document maintenance, repair, inspection, and equipment-history information accurately.

Responsibilities

• Work in patient-care areas while minimizing disruption to clinical operations.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable patient privacy and information-security requirements.
• Follow infection-control procedures and facility access requirements.
• Respond professionally to urgent equipment-service needs.
• Use test equipment, hand tools, and manufacturer diagnostic software appropriate to assigned responsibilities.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Comply with company policies, safety requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Participate in continuing education.
• Document maintenance, inspection, calibration, and repair activities accurately and timely in the equipment-management system.
• Participate in scheduled on-call, overtime, weekend, or emergency-response coverage as operationally required.
• Collaborate with manufacturers and vendors to obtain technical support and equipment updates.
• Support inventory management and tracking of biomedical equipment.
• Support equipment risk-assessment and preventive-maintenance program activities appropriate to the assigned BMET level.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
