Job summary

UAB Medicine is seeking a skilled Biomedical Equipment Technician to install, calibrate and maintain high-risk medical equipment across clinical and support areas. The role emphasizes advanced service and quality control to ensure patient safety and equipment reliability.

With an Associate's degree and eight years of related experience, including four in complex assignments, you may also lead teams and contribute to training programs within a large health system in Alabama.

Qualifications

Job Description

Under minimal supervision, to install, inventory, inspect, repair, calibrate and maintain biomedical equipment in clinical and support areas with a focus on equipment of high level risk, complexity and/or criticality. To resolve advanced service issues. To ensure the safe operation and effective performance of equipment by conducting approved program for quality control and maintenance. To design and perform training and competency assessments for other technicians. May function as a team leader.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Electronics Technology or a related field and eight (8) years experience with four (4) years of complex or specialized assignments required. Equivalent military work experience may substitute for education requirement.
