Job summary

Mass General Brigham is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician to maintain and service hospital medical devices, installing, calibrating, repairing, and inspecting equipment to ensure safety and performance.

You will perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing, respond to device issues in clinical areas, assist with evaluations and upgrades, train staff, and document inspections and repairs. Onsite at 81 Highland Avenue, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Biomedical Technician required; experience may substitute degree.
• Experience as a biomedical technician; 1–2 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect newly acquired medical devices for safety and labeling.
• Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing.
• Respond to device problems in clinical/research areas and troubleshoot.
• Repair devices to board or component level using diagnostic tools.
• Participate in evaluations, installations, and software upgrades.
• Conduct rounds to assess device operation in clinical areas.
• Instruct staff on testing, calibration, maintenance, and repair.
• Document inspections, repairs, procedures and teaching activities.
