Job summary

Intelas, a Compass Healthcare company within Compass Group USA, seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician to perform planned maintenance and safety inspections on patient care equipment in a hospital setting. You will manage service schedules, conduct inspections, and coordinate parts and budgets to keep devices compliant and available.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electronics/biomedical equipment technology or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital setting.
• For field roles, a valid driver’s license is required.
• Ability to work independently with some supervision and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned maintenance and electrical safety inspections on patient care and related equipment.
• Manage equipment and schedule service activities to ensure uptime.
• Conduct pre-acceptance inspections and develop PM procedures; maintain manuals.
• Verify test equipment operation and calibration within set intervals.
• Respond quickly to clinical calls to evaluate issues and provide fixes.
• Source repair parts and manage budgets for parts within approved limits.
• Maintain purchase order logs and validate invoices for field staff.
• Provide informal training to equipment users and staff as needed.
• Advise the Department Manager on service strategies and report issues.
• Engage in Quality Improvement/Risk Management and suggest improvements.
• Keep work area orderly and functional; participate in team meetings.
