The field service technician will manage equipment, perform pre-acceptance inspections, on-call support, and coordinate with hospital staff. A strong customer service mindset and ability to work independently are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or military-equivalent training in electronics/biomedical equipment
• At least 3 years servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital
• Valid driver's license if travel is required
• Ability to work independently with some supervision
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Good organization and time management
• Experience with tracking service histories and asset reports (computer applications)

Responsibilities

• Performs planned maintenance and safety inspections on patient care equipment.
• Manages equipment and schedules service.
• Performs pre-acceptance inspections and develops PM procedures.
• Ensures test equipment is calibrated on schedule.
• Responds to clinical calls to evaluate and resolve issues.
• Researches and orders repair parts within budget.
• Maintains PO log and validates invoices.
• Provides informal training to users and staff.
• Makes recommendations on service strategies to management.
• Participates in Quality Improvement and Risk Management programs.
• Maintains orderly work environment.
• Provides emergency on-call responsibilities as needed.
• Collaborates with technical staff in updates.
• Documents significant asset actions per department practices.
