Purpose and Scope
Under supervision, responsible for the operational condition, maintenance, and repair of all water systems, medical equipment, and mechanical/electrical systems to ensure patient and staff safety. Responsible for inventory and housekeeping as required. Assists in cost containment.
Supporting FMCNA's mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy. Adheres to the FMCNA Compliance Program, including all regulatory and policy requirements.
Duties / Activities
Customer Service
- Drive FMS culture through values and customer service standards.
- Provide outstanding service to all customers.
- Maintain effective relationships through communication.
- Respond promptly to customer issues.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Maintenance / Technical
- Maintain, test, and repair water treatment, dialysis, and medical equipment, and mechanical/electrical systems.
- Document all maintenance and repairs.
- Conduct safety checks and routine tasks per procedures.
- Perform housekeeping checks and follow-ups.
- Maintain water treatment equipment cleanliness and disinfection.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of testing equipment.
- Maintain a safe, clean environment.
- Perform building maintenance as needed.
- Coordinate medical waste disposal.
- Restock supplies and assist with procurement and inventory management.
Patient Care
- Conduct patient walk-throughs during treatment times.
- Reinforce customer service and UltraCare concepts.
- Provide tours and basic explanations of water treatment equipment to patients.
Clerical & Administrative
- Process water and dialysate samples, prepare for shipping.
- Participate in technical QAPI activities.
Other
- Assist at other facilities, transport equipment and supplies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Work involves walking, standing, bending, and lifting up to 600 lbs with assistance. Exposure to chemicals and infectious materials; proper training provided. Must pass Ishihara color blindness test. Emergency procedures must be followed for patient safety.
Education
- High school diploma or G.E.D.; technician training or AA in electronics preferred.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum six months in a technical setting.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Attend technical training as required.
- Valid driver’s license; ability to transport equipment.
- Complete FMCNA training program successfully.
