Job summary

Shady Grove Medical Center in Gaithersburg, MD, is hiring an experienced Biomedical Engineering Technician to support maintenance, inspections, calibration, and service of general biomedical equipment. The role emphasizes confidentiality, collaboration with vendors, and ongoing professional development.

The position requires an AS in Electronics or equivalent, with at least 2 years of biomedical tech experience and strong technical communication.

Qualifications

• AS in Electronics or Mechanical Principles or equivalent technical training.
• Ability to independently repair and perform maintenance on clinical equipment.
• Good technical communication skills and customer service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Perform PA inspections, maintenance, ESI, and OVP on biomedical equipment.
• Repair, install, and calibrate general biomedical equipment.
• Inform supervisors of repair status and any equipment concerns.
• Ensure confidentiality of patient and physician data in reporting.
• Coordinate activities with subcontractors, vendors, and outside technicians.
• Maintain biomedical expertise via ongoing training and education.
• Assist with data submission to ACC and STS.
• Support Service Operations Special Projects as assigned.
• Maintain accuracy of equipment database including inventory and service history.
• Adhere to MEMP and regulatory compliances.
• Perform Incoming Inspections to maintain inventory.
• Make inventory recommendations.
