Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) seeks a Biomedical Equipment Technician II to perform electrical safety testing, calibration and troubleshooting for biomedical and laboratory equipment across the hospital. You will also handle repairs, inventory, and performance assurance activities while participating in an on‑call rotation (nights, weekends and holidays).

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related engineering field or 2+ years in biomedical instrumentation repair.
AAMI certification preferred.
One year of relatable hospital experience or recommendation by Clinical Engineering Director.
Knowledge of safety standards (Joint Commission, FDA, OSHA).
Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoots critical care instrumentation in clinical areas and diagnoses failures.
Conducts electrical safety testing and inspections of equipment.
Performs routine and periodic calibration to ensure proper operation.
Performs emergency and routine repairs on biomedical instrumentation.
Maintains equipment inventory, repairs data and retired equipment.
