Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Biomedical Engineering Bench Technician to maintain medical equipment readiness, perform maintenance and repairs, and support end-user needs across hospital units.

The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs, potential travel to other facilities, and participation in on-the-job and off-site training. Strong computer skills and effective communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Proficient with computer-based technology and Google Suite / MS Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of hospital core functions and current technology.

Responsibilities

• Maintains parts inventory and handles repair parts orders in ERP.
• Performs incoming inspections on new and demo equipment.
• Oversees equipment movement, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Documents high-risk device issues and coordinates with BMET I-IV.
• Travels for on-site/off-site training and potential facility coverage.
