Hackensack Meridian Health Inc. is seeking a Biomedical Engineering Bench Technician to support medical equipment readiness, perform scheduled maintenance, repairs, and end-user installations, and ensure conformance with manufacturer specifications.

This role emphasizes patient safety and hands-on problem solving in a hospital setting. You will collaborate with BMET I–IV, follow the Medical Equipment Management Plan, and rely on strong computer literacy and clear communication to support

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college in a technical field preferred.
• Proficiency with Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of a hospital's core functions and current healthcare tech.

Responsibilities

• Maintains medical equipment readiness to ensure conformance with manufacturer specifications.
• Performs scheduled maintenance, repairs, end-user support, and installations.
• Supports compliance with the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP).
• Seeks guidance and collaborates with BMET levels I–IV; takes direction from BMET Supervisors.

Supports compliance with the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP) to improve patient safety. Seeks guidance and collaborates with BMET I through BMET IV. Takes direction from BMET Supervisor(s).

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
• Demonstrates proficiency using computer-based technology (i.e., Google email, calendars, etc).
• Demonstrates a basic understanding of a hospital's core function to the community.
• Demonstrates knowledge of current technology and its uses as it relates to healthcare.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.

Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:

• Some college education in a technical field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years technical/scientific experience.
