Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Biomedical Engineering Technician II to maintain medical equipment readiness, perform preventive/corrective maintenance, and support clinical operations across locations in New Jersey. You will ensure regulatory compliance and participate in training under BMET supervision.

The role requires BMET-related education or equivalent experience, the ability to travel to multiple sites, and knowledge of FDA/CMS/NJDOH guidelines.

Qualifications

• BS/AS in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering Technology with BMET experience or military BMET program.
• Basic understanding of electronic/mechanical devices.
• Ability to locate and follow manufacturer documentation for devices.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (FDA, CMS, NJDOH).
• Familiar with patient care medical equipment and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Test and calibrate medical devices as preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot devices in clinical or bench settings.
• Install and inspect new equipment prior to use.
• Ensure devices meet regulatory standards and safety specs.
• Manage medical software/hardware systems (PACS, RTLS, alarms).
• Document maintenance and repairs with logs and records.
• Travel to Hackensack Meridian Health locations as needed.
• Participate in on-calls and training as directed.
• Lift 50 lbs., push/pull 50 lbs., and stand for long periods.
