Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Biomedical Engineering Technician II to maintain medical equipment readiness and ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications across sites. The role includes preventive and corrective maintenance, installation, end-user support, and documentation of activities.

Travel between Hackensack Meridian Health sites is required, with on-the-job training and occasional overnight trips.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering Technology with 1 year full-time BMET experience, or AS with 2 years full-time BMET experience, or military BMET program with 2 years full-time BMET experience, or high school diploma/GED with 4 years BMET experience.
• Demonstrates a basic understanding of electronic/mechanical devices.
• Demonstrates ability to access and follow manufacturer documentation for devices.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and patient care equipment.
• Experience with CMMS and knowledge of FDA/Joint Commission standards.

Responsibilities

• Tests and calibrates medical devices (preventive maintenance).
• Troubleshoots devices in clinical or bench settings (corrective maintenance).
• Installs and inspects new equipment prior to use.
• Ensures software and hardware used in patient care meet standards.
