Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Biomedical Engineering Bench Technician to maintain medical equipment readiness, perform preventive maintenance, repairs, end‑user support, and installations across hospital units. You will collaborate with BMET I‑IV, nursing staff, vendors, and the general public, with occasional travel and overnight stays.

Responsibilities include inventory control, parts ordering via ERP, inspections, documenting failures, and log maintenance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• Proficient with computer-based technology (e.g., Google email, calendars).
• Basic understanding of a hospital's core function and current healthcare tech.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Google Suite and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Maintains inventory of repair parts, supplies, and manuals.
• Orders repair parts and supplies using the ERP system.
• Performs incoming inspections on equipment before patient service.
• Manages equipment log and oversees repair processes.
• Performs preventive maintenance to optimize device performance and life expectancy.
• Documents high‑risk device failures to BMET I‑IV.
• Delivers instruments to hospital units for service or supplies, as directed.
• Performs repairs on low‑risk equipment under supervision.
• Travels to other Hackensack Meridian Health facilities as needed.
