Summary of Job Duties:

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at UAMS in Little Rock, AR, seeks a Biomechanics Lab Manager (Research Associate II) to join our research team in a state-of-the-art motion capture lab. Responsibilities include managing lab operations, collecting and analyzing biomechanical data, and supporting research activities.

The lab features two advanced 3D motion capture spaces, an 18-camera Vicon system, force platforms, EMG, isokinetic testing, and more. Equipment also includes a golf research suite with launch monitors, force plates, and an 8-camera Vicon system.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomechanics, Kinesiology, Engineering, or related field plus 6 years of research experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Experience with motion capture, force platforms, EMG data collection
  • Proficiency with Visual3D, MATLAB, Excel
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience with isokinetic systems, rehab technology, golf biomechanics tools
  • Lab management or research coordination experience

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on research hypotheses and study objectives
  • Design experiments, ensure scientific rigor
  • Disseminate research findings
  • Analyze data and prepare visualizations
  • Assist with manuscript and grant submissions
  • Create presentations for scientific meetings
  • Support lab operations
  • Other duties as assigned
