Job summary

Utah State University seeks an Academic Advisor for Biology programs within the College of Arts and Sciences. The role supports student success through advising inside and outside the classroom and coordinates with the Biology Department to enhance the student experience.

Responsibilities include helping students plan their programs, keeping them informed about graduation requirements, tracking progress, and connecting them with campus resources. Knowledge of DegreeWorks and Banner is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Up to 1 year of relevant work experience.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in creating and managing a program of study to maximize success and timely graduation.
• Provide up-to-date information on graduation requirements.
• Track academic progress and inform students of status.
• Collaborate with Biology to recruit and retain high-quality students.
• Participate in assessment activities.
• Develop expertise in DegreeWorks, Banner, and related tools.
• Help students explore educational goals and career/grad school options.
• Explain standards of achievement and consequences of decisions.
