Job summary

Arkansas State University-Beebe is seeking a part-time Academic Advisor to support prospective, new and current students with academic planning and progression. You will work under the Assistant Director of Advising and Learning and apply NACADA standards to promote student success.

The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and excellent oral and written communication skills; experience in higher education advising is preferred. Minimum salary is $16.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, social science, business or related field.
• Academic advising experience in a higher education setting.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic and intrusive advising to students using NACADA standards and best practices.
• Guide students through identifying strengths, formulating educational plans, selecting classes, and developing strategies for success.
• Work with students to resolve Course Program of Study (CPoS) issues and advise on academic progression.
• Assist with walk-in traffic and phone calls as needed.
