Job summary

Troy University, within the AMSTI/ASIM program, seeks a qualified master teacher to serve as a Biology Specialist. The role includes managing daily biology operations and visiting high school classrooms across the Troy In-Service Region.

Documentation of equipment usage is required. The ideal candidate has a biology teaching certificate, at least three years of biology teaching experience, strong lab safety knowledge, and excellent communication and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Alabama Teaching certificate in Biology or General Science and certified to teach Biology at the high school level.
• Minimum of three years of experience teaching biology.
• Strong content background in biology with lab safety procedures.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with administrators, teachers, and students.
• Strong computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Demonstrated workshop leadership skills.
• Demonstrated interest in science outreach programs and activities.
• Completion of all available ASIM training.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the daily operations of the biology component of Science in Motion.
• Inspect and support visits to high school biology classrooms in the Troy In-Service Region.
• Maintain ongoing documentation of equipment usage.

Job Summary

The position is responsible for the daily operations of the biology component of Science in Motion, including visits to high school biology classrooms in the Troy In-Service Region; and on-going documentation of equipment usage.
