Job summary

La Sierra University is seeking a Biology Student Laboratory Teaching Assistant (TA2) to help prepare and run laboratory classes, whether in-person or virtual. The TA2 will provide instruction during labs, assist with grading and related clerical tasks, and coordinate with the instructor and lead TA to keep labs on track.

Applicants must have completed BIOL131/L with a grade of B or higher (or be a prior TA2 for this course in the last four years), be enrolled for Fall 2026, and be able to start

Qualifications

• Must be a La Sierra University student currently enrolled in Fall 2026 quarter.
• Must have taken BIOL131/L within last 4 years and passed with a grade B or higher or been previous TA2 for this course in last 4 years.

Responsibilities

• Assist the instructor with preparation and operation of laboratory classes, whether in-person or virtual.
• Provide instruction during the laboratory.
• Assist with grading of laboratory assignments/quizzes and other clerical work related to the laboratory class experience.
• The TA2 must be able to work a laboratory section for the full time the class lab runs, plus time for preparations, meetings with the instructor or lead TA, grading and other operational activities.
