Job summary

La Sierra University invites applications for a Biology Student Laboratory Teaching Assistant (TA2). The TA2 supports the instructor in preparation and operation of biology labs, which may be in-person or virtual, and provides instruction during labs.

The role may include grading and basic clerical tasks related to the lab experience. Applicants must have completed BIOL131/L with a grade of B or higher or previously served as TA2 for this course in the last 4 years.

Qualifications

• TA2 must have taken and passed the course they would TA for with a grade “B” or higher.
• Ability to assist with preparation and operation of laboratory classes (in-person or virtual).
• Ability to provide instruction during the laboratory and assist with grading and clerical tasks related to the lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist instructor with preparation and operation of laboratory classes.
• Provide instruction during the laboratory and assist with grading of lab assignments/quizzes.
• Support clerical tasks related to the laboratory class experience.
