Job summary

AbbVie Biotherapeutics and Genetic Medicine is seeking a qualified scientist to advance discovery programs through expression and characterization of complex multi-specific biologics. The role involves CHO cell line generation, process development in bioreactors, and implementing high-throughput workflows.

Candidate will analyze data, troubleshoot expression challenges, and contribute to purification and biophysical characterization using HPLC.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s in biology/biochemistry or related field with 5+ (BS) or 2+ (MS) years of experience.
Hands-on experience with cell culture and expression of monoclonal antibodies, bi-specifics and multi-specifics in CHO cells lines.
Experience with targeted integration, automation, and analytical characterization of multi-specific proteins desirable.

Responsibilities

Express novel multi-specific biologics formats to support drug discovery projects.
Generate and screen stable CHO cell lines with optimized attributes.
Optimize chain ratios for 3- and 4-chain molecules in CHO cells.
Develop and optimize expression of stables CHO lines in bioreactors and shake flasks.
Characterize CHO line copy number and mRNA levels using ddPCR and related tools.
Apply screening workflows including FACS-based sorting to generate mini pools.
Leverage automation platforms and high-throughput workflows to improve efficiency.
Contribute to data digitization, analysis, and reporting.
