Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking a Senior Scientist for the Scale-up Lab in Devens, MA. You will lead operations for upstream and downstream processes, collaborate with process, analytical, and manufacturing teams, and support tech transfer from development to clinical and commercial manufacturing.

The role requires strong background in chemical/biochemical engineering, cGMP knowledge, and experience with single-use systems and automation. Eligible for robust benefits and a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. with 2-4 years or M.S. with 4-6 years or B.S. with 7-9 years in Chemical/Biochemical Eng or related field.
• Strong knowledge of Upstream or Downstream Processing.
• Working knowledge of cGMP.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Experience with single-use manufacturing and automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead/ support daily operations in the Scale-up Lab: bioreactor fill/ harvest, inoculation, sampling, feeding, and chromatography/filtration skids.
• Prepare/review technical docs including campaign summaries and batch records.
• Participate in cross-functional teams for process investigations, scale-up, and tech transfer.
• Identify and implement process transfer improvements with internal stakeholders.
• Support GMP activities for external manufacturing programs as needed.
• Maintain a safe Scale-up Lab environment.
