Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb's New Brunswick Kilo Lab is seeking a Scientist to translate laboratory chemical processes into scalable manufacturing steps. You will lead process scale-up, design campaigns, select equipment, plan materials, ensure safety, and document all activities supporting GMP drug substance production for clinical development.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 0–2 years, MS with 2–4 years, or BS with 5–7 years of relevant scale-up experience.
• Experience in chemical process development, scale-up, pilot-plant operations, or pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of chemical processing equipment and unit operations.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical and operational problems using scientific judgment.
• Hands-on with chemical processing equipment and manufacturing execution.
• Understanding of GMP requirements and manufacturing practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and scale-up of chemical processes from development to Kilo Lab and pilot-scale manufacturing.
• Serve as technical and operational lead for process scale-up campaigns.
• Collaborate with chemists, engineers, and analytical scientists to translate laboratory processes into manufacturing operations.
• Coordinate Kilo Lab campaigns: equipment, materials, safety readiness, recipe prep, batch execution, cleaning, documentation.
• Identify and resolve technical and operational challenges during scale-up and manufacturing.
• Translate process safety information into manufacturing practices.
• Monitor process performance and document observations, deviations, and improvements.
• Ensure activities comply with safety, GMP, environmental, and procedural requirements.
