Job summary

AbbVie in North Chicago is seeking a Research Scientist to coordinate outsourcing of biologics production at CROs, handling hundreds of molecules from 100 mg to 50 g. You will oversee expression design, purification strategies, and QC workflows, while ensuring data flows into LIMS and timely delivery of results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in biology, biochemistry, or related field with experience in biologics production.
• Experience coordinating CROs and managing protein production workflows.
• Experience with analytical QC of biologics including SEC, MS, endotoxin and HCP testing.
• Experience with CHO cell expression and protein purification strategies.
• Process development and optimization experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate outsourcing of biologic production at CROs for hundreds of projects.
• Manage expression design, scale selection, purification strategies, and QC data delivery.
• Plan and track outsourcing projects; mitigate risk and ensure timely deliverables.
• Register generated molecules in IT systems and align vendor QC data packages with internal standards.
• Communicate progress and results to stakeholders and resolve scientific issues.
