Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a Senior Scientist I in Biologics Drug Product Development at North Chicago, IL, to lead formulation and process development with emphasis on robustness and product characterization. You will work across functions to deliver high-quality biologics platforms.

You will partner with discovery, analytical development, bioprocess teams and manufacturing, drive DoE studies, support scale‑up and technology transfer, and contribute to stabilization strategies for biologics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with 10 years’ experience; Master’s with 8 years; PhD with industry experience.
• Proven ability to solve critical scientific problems.
• Hands-on experience with biologics formulation development.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and execution of biologics drug product formulation and process development.
• Support scale-up and technology transfer to internal and external sites.
• Stay current with advances in biologics formulation technologies.
• Initiate initiatives to drive innovation and improve processes.
• Represent Bio DPD in cross-functional teams as needed.
• Communicate study plans, risks and mitigation to stakeholders.
