Job summary

MSD in Rahway, NJ seeks a Scientist in the Large Molecule Analytical department. The role focuses on developing and transferring analytical methods for monoclonal proteins and complex biologics in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The candidate should have a laboratory background with experience in UPLC/HPLC, PCR/ELISA, and data interpretation. Collaborative cross-functional work and potential publication of findings are expected, with opportunities for professional growth and involvement

Qualifications

• BA/BS in analytical chemistry/biochemistry or related field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry
• MS with a minimum of 0+ year relevant experience (with expected graduation no later than January 2027)
• Prior experience in a laboratory environment
• Ability to develop and apply basic principles and scientific concepts to execute work in a laboratory setting
• Execute routine experiments and data interpretation with appropriate technical guidance
• Ability to operate and troubleshoot analytical methods
• Understanding of the fundamentals in separations science
• Experience with UPLC/HPLC analysis of biologics (e.g., SEC, RP, IEX) and CE techniques or molecular biology (PCR, DNA extraction) and immunoassay (ELISA, gel electrophoresis) techniques
• Ability to work within overall project timelines to manage prioritization and execution of individual deliverables with appropriate supervision
• Demonstrated experience working within collaborative team environments
• Experience in authoring and reviewing internal technical reports, sections of regulatory filings (e.g., IND, BLA) and external scientific publications

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, implement, troubleshoot, and transfer analytical methods for monoclonal proteins or complex biologics.
• Collaborate in fast-paced, multidisciplinary teams to enable biologics development.
• Publish findings and contribute to regulatory filings and external publications.
• Interpret data and operate with laboratory informatics to support project timelines.
• Author internal technical reports and participate in method transfers and documentation
