Job summary

GHD is seeking a Technical Director – Biological Resources in California to lead wildlife biology, botany and wetlands teams, delivering field studies, assessments and CEQA/NEPA documentation for major projects. You will drive growth of the Natural Resources & Impact Assessment group, manage key client relationships, win new work, and guide project delivery in a hybrid office model across California.

Qualifications

20+ years in environmental consulting and biology.
10+ years in environmental consulting with 6+ years full-cycle PM.
10+ years of field surveys for natural resources, including special status species.
Extensive CEQA/NEPA knowledge and regulatory experience.
Proven ability to win work, build pipelines, and manage client relationships.

Responsibilities

Lead teams of wildlife biologists, botanists, and wetland scientists on field studies and reports.
Coordinate CEQA/NEPA documentation and regulatory approvals.
Ensure health, safety, and environment compliance across projects.
Manage a portfolio of major projects in line with PM strategy.
Develop proposals in response to bids and tenders to win contracts.
Coach and mentor staff to build organizational capability.
Drive innovative solutions by integrating diverse information sources.
Lead communities of practice and contribute to thought leadership.
