Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited. seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations in Lafayette, LA. You will determine donor eligibility, oversee adverse events, review lab results, and notify donors of unsuitable tests.

The role requires EMT-Paramedic credentials, CPR/AED, IV therapy certification, and at least two years in a clinical setting, with responsibilities including coordinating emergencies and supporting vaccination programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; or graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Current license or certification in the state of assignment: EMT-Paramedic.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• State‑required basic IV therapy certification.
• Completion of FDA‑approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• At least two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Apply SOPs for medical emergencies and coordinate donor transport to emergency care.
• Refer medical or technical findings to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs.

• Manage employee incidents and coordinate evaluation with occupational health/ER under EHS guidance.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats.

Job Description

Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) will support plasma center operations, reporting to the Center Manager and overseeing donor eligibility determination, management of donor adverse events, review of laboratory test results, and donor notification of unsuitable test results.

Compensation & Benefits

U.S. hourly wage range: $23.04 – $31.68, subject to qualifications, experience, and location.
