Job summary

Mercer University School of Medicine seeks a highly qualified educator for a tenure-track, 12-month faculty appointment in Bioethics & Medical Humanities at the Savannah campus. Additional duties may be assigned in summer, with assignment based on degree and experience.

The candidate will help create an integrated ethics and humanities curriculum across pre-clinical and clerkship years, teaching on all three campuses both virtually and in person, and collaborating with the Chair and colleagues

Qualifications

• Terminal degree (PhD, JD, DBe, MD, DO or equivalent) from an accredited college/university.
• Demonstrated training in ethics consultation or related field.
• Commitment to Mercer University School of Medicine mission and ethics education.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an integrated ethics and humanities curriculum for pre-clinical and clerkship years.
• Teach across campuses (Savannah, Macon, Columbus) both virtually and in person.
• Collaborate with the Chair and department faculty on program development and scholarship.
• Participate in faculty development, grand rounds, and interconnected programs with other schools.
