Job summary

Mercer University School of Medicine (MUSM) is seeking a highly qualified educator with broad training and demonstrated experience or enthusiasm for teaching in a medical school curriculum. This tenure-track, 12-month appointment is based in Columbus, Georgia, with additional duties during the summer; the departmental assignment will be based on degree type and experience.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree from an accredited college/university.
• Demonstrated training in ethics consultation.
• Commitment to the mission of Mercer University School of Medicine.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Research and teaching in the medical humanities.

Responsibilities

• Create an integrated ethics and humanities curriculum across pre-clinical and clerkship years.
• Collaborate with Chair and department faculty to advance ethics education.
• Engage in faculty development, grand rounds, student projects and research in bioethics and medical humanities.
• Develop resources and participate in the four-year certificate program in bioethics and medical humanities.

Education

Terminal degree (PhD, JD, DBe, MD, DO)
