Cascade Biocatalysts is seeking a Research Associate to support enzyme projects and expand its enzyme portfolio.

You will perform enzyme assays, cloning, recombinant protein expression and purification, collaborating with a diverse team in a dynamic startup.

This on-site Denver role offers hands-on laboratory experience, growth opportunities, and the chance to contribute to sustainable biomanufacturing.

Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or related field with 1–2 years of relevant experience.
Hands-on lab experience in enzyme assays, cloning, protein expression, or related techniques.
Strong analytical, attention to detail, and collaboration skills.

Enzyme Assay Development & Execution: execute and troubleshoot enzyme activity assays for screening and characterization.
Molecular Biology & Cloning: perform cloning, plasmid construction, and related DNA handling for libraries.
Recombinant Protein Expression & Purification: express and purify recombinant enzymes; assess purity by SDS-PAGE.
Bioconjugation: support bioconjugation using Body Armor for Enzymes immobilization.
Startup Environment: adapt to evolving project needs and timelines in a startup.
Collaborative teamwork: work with cross-functional teams to design experiments and troubleshoot.
Data collection, analysis, and records: maintain meticulous records and analyze data.
Documentation & Communication: develop SOPs and communicate findings clearly.
Laboratory maintenance: keep area clean and instruments calibrated.
