Job summary

MSD is seeking motivated interns for our Future Talent Program in the Biocatalysis group within the Small Molecule PR&D Department. Interns will contribute to biocatalysts development and enzyme engineering while working alongside scientists in chemistry and biology labs.

The program targets sophomores to seniors or graduate students, with hands-on projects in biocatalysis, microfluidics, and fermentation, and includes training in electronic notebook practices and data analysis.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in specified fields; or enrolled graduate student in Master's/Ph.D. programs.
• Must have completed at least two years of study toward a bachelor’s degree by June 2027.
• Available to work full-time for ~11-12 weeks from May/June 2027.
• Authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Support biocatalysis and enzyme engineering experiments in a lab setting.
• Assist in microfluidics, fermentation, and platform development activities.
• Record data and protocols in electronic notebook and practice safe lab methods.
• Prepare and present research results orally and in writing.
