Job summary

Azenta Life Sciences in Massachusetts is seeking a Biobank/Compound Management Technician I to manage the full lifecycle of small molecule samples stored on site. You will ensure storage integrity, perform data entry and qualification activities to keep the repository running smoothly.

Responsibilities include following SOPs, handling requests, using LIMS for tracking, maintaining equipment, and coordinating with teams to meet delivery timelines for domestic and international shipments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with some laboratory experience or equivalent
• Associates degree with 2+ years relevant experience
• HS Diploma with 5+ years relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Perform all functions methodically and in accordance with Policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Support day-to-day compound handling processes to fulfil sample requests in both dry and solution formats; weighing samples, creating stock solutions, plating sample requests, and preparing samples for shipment.
• Adhere to GMP, GTP, GLP, GDP, ISO, CAP, IATA and other regulatory standards as outlined in SOPs and site location.
• Handle materials maintaining required temperatures (+30°C to -196°C) per project definition and SOPs.
• Follow safety requirements for infectious and non-infectious biological materials, radioactive materials, chemical compounds and drug products.
• Manage life cycle of samples: Reception, Manifesting, Registration, Retrievals, Discard/Shipment, Other client tasks.
• Receive and process samples and inventory ensuring proper labeling, sorting, and storage.
• Utilize automated stores, liquid handling systems, robotic platforms, and repository instrumentation to fulfill daily requests.
• Use LIMS for all sample handling tasks including chain of custody and tracking.
• Ensure all laboratory and Biobank equipment is maintained and functional.
• Responsible for order fulfillment with established timelines.
• Collaborate with Azenta colleagues to meet customer deliverables.
• Independently operate laboratory equipment where the site has a lab.
• Accurately use pipettes and reagents.
• Manage storage of samples with established inventory SOPs.
• Review requests for accuracy and availability of compounds and samples.
• Release requests and fill orders based on order type.
• Prepare orders for shipments following SOPs for domestic and international shipments.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment (balances, automated stores, liquid handling devices).
• Generate reports and custom reports as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree with some laboratory experience
