Job summary

Ryan Specialty, a leading wholesale distributor of specialty insurance products and services, is seeking a Binding Authority Underwriter to build a High-Net-Worth Personal Lines book. You’ll assess complex risks, market submissions to carriers, and craft tailored coverage solutions for top retail agents.

This role emphasizes underwriting, relationship development, and growth across luxury homes, autos, and other high-value risks.

Qualifications

3+ years of insurance experience in Personal Lines Underwriting or related fields.
Experience developing relationships with agents, brokers, or carrier partners.
Experience marketing business to carriers and negotiating coverage solutions.
Working knowledge of Personal Lines products and coverages.
Demonstrated ability to build, maintain, and grow business relationships.
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Underwrite new business, renewals, endorsements, and complex personal lines risks within authority.
Analyze exposures, loss history, inspections, valuations, and risk characteristics for pricing.
Prepare quotations and communicate recommendations to retail agency partners.
Develop, manage, and expand relationships with retail agents and carrier partners.
Drive annual premium growth through new business production and agency development.
Monitor portfolio performance and coordinate with internal teams for timely servicing.
