Job summary

RRD is a global provider of marketing, packaging, print, and supply chain solutions offering extensive bindery capabilities in Timonium, MD. This role focuses on operating and setting up a range of bindery equipment to produce final books, catalogs, and magazines.

You will supervise the production crew, monitor quality and output, and ensure safety protocols on all devices. The role demands attention to detail and adherence to job specifications and timelines.

Qualifications

• Able to read and interpret work orders and maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Capable of calculating distances, clearances, and fits for machine setup.
• Skilled with standard and specialized bindery tools to adjust and maintain equipment.
• Knowledge of complex bindery machines and folding units to perform finishing operations.
• Understanding of paper stock types and their finishing requirements.
• Ability to set up machines to prevent impressions on printed materials.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust and operate a variety of auxiliary binding machines with multiple heads and attachments.
• Set up automatic bindery machines capable of producing complete finishing units.
• Inspect equipment for safety and operational issues.
• Make adjustments to coordinate multiple stations on a single machine.
• Direct crew through all aspects of production and monitor output.
• Maintain quality and productivity of finished books, catalogs, and magazines.
