Job summary

Mittera in Philadelphia is seeking an experienced Bindery Operator to operate stitcher/trimmers, cutters, folders, mailers, and related finishing equipment to process printed products.

You will read job tickets, set up machines, ensure quality, maintain a clean and safe work area, and document materials used on tickets. The role requires 3–5+ years of binder experience, basic math, and good communication; familiarity with SPC/TQM is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 3–5+ years of experience as a binder operator.
• Able to read work instructions and memos.
• Effective communications across all levels of the organization.
• Basic math skills to solve practical problems.
• Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
• Capable of meeting stringent deadlines under pressure.
• Organized, proactive, and safety oriented.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Bind sheets into saddle stitched booklets using automated bindery equipment.
• Jogs and cuts stock to required sizes using a cutter.
• Fold sheets using a folding machine.
• Operate small binding machines and perform manual binding tasks.
• Read job tickets and specifications before starting work.
• Set up and maintain bindery equipment in a full-service operation.
• Maintain clean, safe work area around binding equipment.
• Record quantities, materials used on tickets and time sheets.
• Support quality programs such as SPC or TQM as requested.
