Job summary

Ferguson is seeking a VDC QA/QC Specialist to lead quality assurance of mechanical and plumbing BIM models, drawings, and fabrication documents. You will collaborate with VDC coordinators and project teams to ensure accurate, coordinated deliverables and drive constructability improvements.

The role emphasizes independent work with cross-functional teams, strict attention to constructability and adherence to project standards, and ongoing development of VDC processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in VDC, BIM coordination, mechanical construction or plumbing construction.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems and construction practices.
• Experience reviewing Revit models and coordinated construction drawings.
• Proficiency with Revit, Navisworks, Smartsheet and Bluebeam.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals and manufacturer documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality assurance and quality control reviews of coordinated mechanical and plumbing BIM models, drawings, and fabrication documentation.
• Validate deliverables meet contract requirements, project specifications, approved submittals, manufacturer recommendations, applicable codes and company standards.
• Evaluate constructability and identify potential installation challenges before field work.
• Collaborate with VDC Coordinators, Project Managers, VDC leadership, and trade partners to communicate findings and drive resolution of issues.
• Provide clear, actionable feedback that improves model quality, coordination, and project execution.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of VDC standards, workflows, and best practices.
• Help ensure projects are delivered with the highest levels of quality, accuracy, and coordination.
