Job summary

VEC is seeking a BIM/VDC Specialist (Mechanical) to develop and maintain mechanical models, coordinate with teams, and ensure quality control of BIM deliverables. You will work with mechanical contractors, project managers, foremen, and field teams to ensure constructability and accurate layouts.

This role requires strong technical modeling skills, collaboration with multiple trades, and proactive ownership of model accuracy and project success.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in BIM/VDC for mechanical construction.
• Ability to analyze modeling challenges and provide constructible solutions.
• Strong collaboration with contractors, project managers, and field teams.
• Familiarity with mechanical systems, conduit routing, NEC codes, and field installation practices.
• Take full responsibility for BIM model accuracy and project success.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical models in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks with constructability in mind.
• Perform clash detection and resolution with electrical, plumbing, and structural trades.
• Coordinate with foremen and project managers to align layouts with field requirements.
• Assist in prefabrication planning, including spool drawings and conduit layouts.
• Update as-built models to reflect field conditions and revisions.
