Job summary

Ferguson Enterprises, Inc. is seeking a VDC QAQC Specialist in Richmond, VA to perform quality assurance on BIM models, drawings, and fabrication docs. You will verify constructability and coordination across mechanical and plumbing systems, collaborating with VDC teams and trade partners.

You will review Revit models, use Navisworks, Smartsheet, and Bluebeam, and provide clear, factual feedback to help prevent field problems. This role requires independent work with team collaboration.

Qualifications

This position provides an independent set of experienced eyes to verify that VDC deliverables are accurate, complete, constructible, coordinated, and aligned with contract documents, project specifications, approved submittals, manufacturer requirements, applicable codes, and company standards.The VDC QAQC Specialist works closely with VDC Coordinators, Project Managers, VDC Management, and trade partners to identify deficiencies, communicate findings, and support continuous improvement throughout the VDC and construction process. The role requires strong knowledge of mechanical and plumbing systems, BIM coordination, constructability, and the ability to clearly document and communicate technical issues.Required Qualifications:Experience in VDC, BIM coordination, mechanical construction, plumbing construction, or a related field.Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems and construction practices.Experience reviewing Revit models and coordinated construction drawings.Working knowledge of Revit, Navisworks, Smartsheet and Bluebeam.Ability to interpret contract drawings, specifications, submittals, and manufacturer documentation.Understanding of mechanical and plumbing coordination and constructability.Ability to identify incomplete systems, coordination issues, and potential field installation problems.Strong attention to detail and ability to perform systematic quality reviews.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Ability to provide clear, professional, and fact-based QAQC feedback.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with VDC teams, Project Managers, and trade partners.Core Competencies:Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical and plumbing systems.Attention to Detail: Ability to identify small issues before they become field problems.Constructability: Ability to evaluate whether a coordinated model can realistically be installed.Problem Solving: Ability to identify root causes and recommend practical solutions.Communication: Ability to provide clear, professional, and actionable feedback.Collaboration: Ability to work productively with Coordinators, PMs, VDC teams, and trade partners.Accountability: Willingness to make fact-based QAQC decisions and protect project quality.Continuous Improvement: Ability to identify recurring issues and help improve VDC standards and processes.At Ferguson, we care for each other. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.$4,799.70 - $7,791.30Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.Ferguson complies with all wage regulations.
