Job summary

Diasphere is an Austin-based BIM and VDC services company specializing in MEP coordination for Mechanical and Plumbing trades. We’re seeking an experienced BIM/VDC Project Lead to own project coordination, lead the team, and serve as the primary contact for clients and contractors from kickoff to delivery.

You’ll oversee models and drawings, establish QA/QC standards, manage clashes and constructability reviews, and guide RFIs and technical questions while coordinating with multiple stakeholders

Qualifications

• 5+ years leading BIM/VDC projects in commercial construction.
• Experience directing teams of BIM specialists.
• Strong knowledge of MEP coordination standards (QA/QC).

Responsibilities

• Lead BIM/VDC coordination for commercial MEP projects.
• Serve as the key BIM/VDC point of contact for clients, contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
• Lead and coordinate BIM Specialists and Engineers, including workload planning and task allocation.
• Oversee models, construction drawings, and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.
• Establish and maintain QA/QC standards for models, drawings, and documentation.
• Lead clash detection, coordination, constructability reviews, and issue resolution.
• Manage and review RFIs and resolve complex technical questions.
• Take ownership of project decisions, deadlines, risks, and BIM/VDC standards and processes.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced BIM/VDC Project Lead to join our US-based team. You’ll own BIM/VDC coordination on your projects, lead the team behind them, and be the main point of contact for clients and contractors from kickoff to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead BIM/VDC coordination for commercial MEP construction projects;
• Serve as the key BIM/VDC point of contact for clients, contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams;
• Lead and coordinate BIM Specialists and Engineers, including workload planning and task allocation;
• Oversee models, construction drawings, and deliverables throughout the project lifecycle;
• Establish and maintain QA/QC standards for models, drawings, and documentation;
• Lead clash detection, coordination, constructability reviews, and issue resolution;
• Manage and review RFIs and resolve complex technical questions;
• Take ownership of project decisions, deadlines, risks, and BIM/VDC standards and processes.

What We’re Looking For

• Authorization to work in the U.S. (we are unable to offer visa sponsorship);
• Ability to work during Central Time hours;
• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on MEP projects;
• Proven experience leading BIM/VDC projects or teams as a Team Lead, Project Lead, or similar (2+ years preferred);
• Strong experience with HVAC and Plumbing projects;
• Advanced knowledge of Autodesk Revit / Revit MEP;
• Strong experience with Navisworks and BIM coordination;
• Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC);
• Solid understanding of BIM/VDC workflows and standards, including project setup, model coordination, clash detection, and QA/QC;
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and project priorities;
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
• Ability to lead, mentor, and support team members;
• Strong ownership and the confidence to make decisions independently;
• Will be a plus: experience with Bluebeam and/or AutoCAD.
