Job summary

The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company is seeking a self-motivated BIM/VDC specialist to lead virtual building processes on large construction projects in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. You will coordinate with design and field teams, review model constructability, manage subcontractor BIMs for 3D coordination and clash detection, and create visualizations to help streamline installation and closeout.

Strong communication and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with BIM/VDC processes on construction projects.
• Proficient in reading drawings, specifications and codes.
• Ability to lead virtual building processes on projects.
• Experience reviewing constructability of Design Intent models.
• Coordinate BIMs from subcontractors for 3D coordination and clash detection.
• Support field installation and As-built model delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of the Virtual Building process.
• Review constructability of Design Intent models provided by design partners.
• Manage and review BIMs created by subcontractors for 3D coordination and clash detection.
• Utilize the coordinated model to support field installation and As-built delivery.
• Read construction drawings and building codes to ensure compliance.
• Test new software and technologies and recommend their use.
• Manage subcontractors and run effective meetings.
• Create 3D visualizations as needed during project lifecycles.
• Collaborate in a team environment and contribute to project goals.
