Job summary

Hoffman Construction Company is seeking a BIM Intern to join the BIM Department in an in-office role in Washington. The intern will support document management of 3D model content, coordinate site logistics, and learn clash reporting and publishing Navisworks models.

You will work closely with the project team and other BIM staff, attend coordination meetings, and take comprehensive meeting minutes while gaining hands-on experience with Navisworks, coordination workflows, and QA/QC processes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent degree and/or equivalent field work experience required.
• Education background in materials and methods of construction.

Responsibilities

• Receive and distribute model files from designers, project team members, and subcontractors.
• Clash test and publish Federated Models using Navisworks Manage.
• Participate in jobsite inspections of installed conditions as compared with model geometry, including photo documentation and reporting. General QA/QC using the latest platforms.
• Attend BIM coordination meetings and take and distribute comprehensive and concise meeting minutes.
