Job summary

Ryan Companies US, Inc. is seeking a VDC Engineer to join our Austin team. The role focuses on BIM administration and coordination, providing models, technical BIM support, and assembling 3D content for project teams.

Expect travel to job sites and collaboration with design and construction disciplines to drive efficient project delivery. You will work with Navisworks, Revit, Civil 3D, SketchUp, and other tools to integrate construction models, identify clashes, and support scheduling, phasing,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering/Management, Architecture or Engineering.
• Minimum of 1 year in the construction or design field.
• Software system implementation and/or upgrades experience preferred.
• General knowledge of estimating techniques, cost control, and material pricing.
• Strong interest in construction related technology.

Responsibilities

• Create and integrate a construction model for coordination and conflict resolution across design and construction disciplines.
• Identify clashes between building systems and construction materials.
• Facilitate coordination meetings with subcontractors and vendors.
• Create 4D schedules to align model with project schedule.
• Update 4D schedules to track progress and critical path milestones.
• Complete quantity take-offs from model for estimating and material orders.
• Review shop drawings against the construction model.
