Job summary
Jobot is seeking a detailed BIM/VDC Designer to create and maintain 3D models for electrical construction projects. You will collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to develop coordinated models and installation drawings, identifying clashes and driving practical, cost-effective solutions through project closeout.
The ideal candidate has BIM software experience in construction and understands electrical system design, coordination, and field installation.
Qualifications
- Experience as a BIM/VDC Designer or similar role.
- Proficiency with BIM software in a construction environment.
- Understanding of electrical systems coordination and installation at the field.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models for electrical systems.
- Model conduit, cable tray, lighting, power distribution, and equipment.
- Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and structural teams.
- Perform clash detection and resolve design/installation conflicts.
- Produce installation drawings and shop drawings for field personnel.
- Support sequencing, planning, and visualization through BIM models.
- Create spool drawings and prefabrication models.
- Assist with field layout and as-built documentation.
