Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Electrical BIM Technician/Coordinator to perform advanced 3D modeling and produce working shop drawings. You will support shop prefabrication and field installation across regional commercial projects, collaborating closely with Project Managers, Vendors, Engineers, and Field personnel.

Autodesk tools will be used, with additional 3rd party software as applicable. This role offers annual profit sharing after 1 year, 401(k) matching, and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of BIM modeling experience in commercial construction.
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks required.
• Experience with Bluebeam, Windows, Outlook, and MS Office preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop BIM models and coordinate with trades up to LOD 500.
• Perform clash detection using Navisworks and coordinate with trades.
• Resolve coordination issues with project managers and BIM team.
• Model and coordinate with other trades to ensure clearances.
• Support field personnel with site surveys and measurements.

Position Overview

As a Building Information Modeling (BIM) Technician / Coordinator, you will be responsible for advanced 3D modeling and creating working shop drawings used to support shop prefabrication and field installation on various commercial construction projects. Coordination of drawings and working closely with assigned Project Managers, Vendors, Engineers, and Field Personnel will be essential for this position. You will use Autodesk software for design and various 3rd party software where applicable. Key Responsibilities

• Modeling & Coordination: Help the BIM Manager develop strategies to integrate BIM modeling into design and prefabrication. Model and coordinate projects up to Level of Development 500 (LOD 500).
• Clash Detection: Review and fix clashes with other trades (structural, mechanical, plumbing) using Navisworks and participate in trade coordination meetings.
• Problem Solving: Work closely with the BIM Manager and Project Managers for resolution of issues identified during coordination meetings. Analyze project BIM requirements and identify early strategies for successful BIM/detailing implementation.
• Trade Integration: Model and coordinate with other trades to ensure routings and clearances are understood and no obstructions exist.
• Field Collaboration: Work with field personnel on site and perform site surveys and field measurement work as needed to support conceptual and design drawing efforts.
• Documentation & Continuous Improvement: Create and revise submittal documents, follow BIM standards and implementation plans, and identify BIM "lessons learned" to participate in educational meetings within the department.

Key Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of related BIM modeling experience within the construction industry with specific knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks software.
• Trade Knowledge: Working knowledge of general construction, commercial electrical parts, clearances, and their intended use.
• Software Skills: Proficient in Bluebeam, Windows, Outlook, and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of BIM 360 and/or Autodesk Cloud is an advantage, but not required.
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. (No visa sponsorship available).
