Job summary

Olsson is seeking a BIM Structural Specialist to lead complex drafting tasks using Revit for industrial projects in Des Moines. You will develop LOD 200-400 BIM models, create drawings, manage families, and coordinate with Civil and Process teams.

You will mentor staff, supervise junior modelers, and ensure models meet IBC/OSHA standards while advancing BIM workflows across design phases. Occasional site visits and training sessions are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field preferred.
• Minimum eight years of experience with Autodesk Revit.
• Autodesk Certified Professional in Revit for Structural Design required.
• Familiar with Navisworks and AutoCAD software.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain structural BIM models (LOD 200-400) in Revit.
• Prepare drawings, layouts, details, and schedules for construction documentation.
• Create/manage Revit families, templates, filters, and worksets.
• Coordinate models with Civil/Process teams and export to RISA 3D.
• Lead design reviews, ensure code compliance (IBC/OSHA) and QA/QC.
• Mentor/supervise less experienced staff; participate in site visits as needed.
