Job summary

W.B. Guimarin is seeking a BIM Field Engineer to link BIM/VDC technicians with on-site construction teams. You will convert models for field layout and use Robotic Total Station technology to bring model data into the field.

The role requires travel to project sites, proficiency with Revit or AutoCAD, and the ability to interpret BIM models and construction drawings while coordinating with field crews to ensure accurate installations.

Qualifications

• Experience with Revit and/or AutoCAD and BIM modeling.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings.
• Strong spatial awareness and ability to translate a 3D model into real-world locations.
• Detail-oriented with good communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between BIM technicians and field construction teams.
• Use BIM models to support field layout and installation.
• Set up and operate a Robotic Total Station for construction layout.
• Translate model information into accurate field locations.
• Lay out piping, ductwork, equipment, sleeves, hangers and supports.
• Work with foremen, superintendents, PMs and BIM technicians.
• Identify differences between BIM models and field conditions.
• Communicate field changes and coordination issues to the BIM team.
• Verify dimensions and installation locations before work.
• Assist field personnel with BIM-generated information.
• Troubleshoot layout and coordination issues in the field.
• Travel regularly to active construction projects.
