Job summary

Mesa Associates, Inc. in Knoxville, TN is seeking a BIM Designer with strong Revit experience to support mechanical, electrical, and civil/structural design on large projects.

The role focuses on developing routine to moderately complex drawings and coordinating design work across disciplines. Ideal candidates have 4+ years of experience, solid drafting knowledge, and good interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Experience with Revit for BIM design and drafting.
• Ability to understand and apply drafting/design standards and symbols.
• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a project team.
• Comprehension of multi-discipline coordination and design layouts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design routine to moderately complex drawings (layouts, assemblies, schematics, details) using CAD/BIM tools.
• Coordinate design work between project team disciplines.
• Ensure design approach meets technical, construction, and commercial requirements.
• Understand drawing types and their relationships to deliverables.
• Manage personal tasks within scope, schedule, and budget, and report status to senior designer.

Mesa seeks a BIM Designer specifically experienced in Revit work. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience, preferably of large projects involving mechanical, electrical, and/or civil/structural design.

What We’re Looking for

• Experience working in Revit
• Possess a working knowledge of drafting/design, including techniques, standards, nomenclature, and symbols used in the preparation of drawings
• Possess aptitude for computing, design, and drawing preparation/layout
• Possess a general knowledge of various disciplines and project execution practices
• Possess good interpersonal skills to build relationships and work effectively in a team environment

What You’ll Do

• Performs basic functions required to develop and design routine to moderately complex engineering and construction drawings (layouts, assemblies, schematics, and details) in a specialty area based on general engineering or design information, utilizing computer aided design technology
• Coordinates design work between specialty areas of the project team
• Understands the basic design approach (technical, construction, and commercial) and ensures that the design approach meets the applicable requirements
• Has a general understanding of drawing types required for a project, their purpose, and inter-relationship with other sets of deliverables
• Manages personal task assignments and adheres to the project scope of work, schedule, and budget on all assigned tasks
• Communicate with the senior designer on project status, needs, and changes in scope, schedule, and budget
