Job summary

Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking a BIM Designer with 4+ years of experience, proficient in Revit, to contribute to large power, defense, and industrial projects.

The role focuses on developing routine to moderately complex drawings and coordinating with electrical, mechanical, and civil disciplines. Qualified candidates will have a drafting background, strong design sense, and good interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Experience using Revit for development of drawings.
• Familiar with drafting standards, symbols and nomenclature.
• Aptitude for computing, design and drawing preparation.
• Ability to work with multiple disciplines and teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and design routine to moderately complex engineering drawings using CAD/ BIM tools.
• Coordinate design work between project team disciplines.
• Understand design approach and ensure it meets requirements.
• Identify and manage drawing types and deliverables.
• Manage personal tasks and adhere to scope, schedule and budget.
• Communicate status and changes with the senior designer.

Mesa seeks a BIM Designer specifically experienced in Revit work. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience, preferably of large projects involving mechanical, electrical, and/or civil/structural design.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working in Revit
• Possess a working knowledge of drafting/design, including techniques, standards, nomenclature, and symbols used in the preparation of drawings
• Possess aptitude for computing, design, and drawing preparation/layout
• Possess a general knowledge of various disciplines and project execution practices
• Possess good interpersonal skills to build relationships and work effectively in a team environment

What You’ll Do

• Performs basic functions required to develop and design routine to moderately complex engineering and construction drawings (layouts, assemblies, schematics, and details) in a specialty area based on general engineering or design information, utilizing computer aided design technology
• Coordinates design work between specialty areas of the project team
• Understands the basic design approach (technical, construction, and commercial) and ensures that the design approach meets the applicable requirements
• Has a general understanding of drawing types required for a project, their purpose, and inter-relationship with other sets of deliverables
• Manages personal task assignments and adheres to the project scope of work, schedule, and budget on all assigned tasks
• Communicate with the senior designer on project status, needs, and changes in scope, schedule, and budget
