Job summary

Southern Mechanical is seeking an experienced BIM/CAD Coordinator to join our in-house team. You will coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, and other drawings to identify conflicts and keep models up to date.

The ideal candidate has strong experience with Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other BIM platforms, and can translate construction documents into coordinated, clash-free drawings for field use. This role offers competitive pay, medical, dental, and vision insurance, retirement and paid

Qualifications

• 3+ years of BIM/CAD drafting and construction coordination experience.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience with Navisworks or other model coordination/clash detection software.
• Understanding of architectural, structural, and MEP construction documents.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate BIM models and CAD drawings across disciplines.
• Review drawings and 3D models for accuracy and conflicts.
• Perform clash detection and coordination using BIM software.
• Identify discrepancies and resolve with project teams.
• Maintain and organize project models and files.
• Support project managers and subcontractors with coordination.
• Participate in coordination meetings and track issues.
• Prepare and update coordination drawings and templates.
• Develop and maintain BIM/CAD standards and workflows.
• Review consultant/subcontractor drawings for compliance
• Assist with constructability reviews and identify issues early.
• Maintain revision control and current documents.
